1 dead following crash in West Allis; speed and alcohol appear to be factors


WEST ALLIS — 50-year-old man from Menomonee Falls was killed in a crash early Thursday morning, February 23rd in West Allis. Two others were hurt.

It happened on Greenfield Avenue near 98th Street around 1:15 a.m.

When police arrived on scene they located a two-vehicle crash. The operator of the striking vehicle fled the scene on foot and was taken into custody after a short foot chase.

Initial investigation reveals the striking vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Greenfield Avenue and struck a vehicle turning northbound at the intersection with S. 98th Street.

Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

Police say the lone occupant of the struck vehicle died on scene as a result of the crash. The deceased is a 50-year-old man from Menomonee Falls.
